Dubai: Motorists travelling along Al Khail Road towards Jebel Ali have warned of an impending disaster as paint spilled on the road has obscured the lane markings.
More than 100 metres of the road were covered by the paint on Saturday morning when a truck carrying it crashed into a car, causing the spill.
Motorists passing over the spot are confused as to where the lanes lead.

The road is pretty messed up -completely enough to conceal the lane markings. The concerned authorities should do something before it is too late for a disaster to take place.

The whole area of construction on Al Khail Road is very dangerous since they created very sharp curves with incline that may cause drivers to lose control of the vehicle. The other problem is labourers walking on the fast lane and sometimes even parking their pick-up trucks on fast lane, instead of entering the costruction area.

It was so confusing as to which lane to take while entering from Business Bay to Al Khail Road as the road is completely coated white. It would cause serious accidents if the authorities don't take steps to mark the lanes soon.

When an accident takes place, the scene should be cleared properly and promptly without creating any further accidents. I travel by Al Khail Road daily to Al Quoz. Most of the time some objects fall from the trucks, which is very serious. The other day a spade fell down in the middle of the road from a truck. I was driving just behind the truck but due to the speed it fell on the other side. Such things should not happen which would result in a fatal disaster.

Why does no one hold the company who caused the spill accountable? How can so much paint be spilled and no one report the incident to the police? There must be hundreds of vehicles now with a white underbody and ruined paint job after having driven through the paint while it was still wet! Who will pay to clean their vehicles?

Emirates Road next to Business Bay is also in a similar state.

Today I passed along the said road. And sure enough a disaster is going to happen. The RTA should take care of it immediately, and not wait for another accident.

The roundabout at Hamriyah Port is extremely dangerous as lanes coming into the R/A from Dubai Hospital are not properly allocated lanes going into that particular R/A.

The way this situation is being handled frightens me. I take that road everyday to go to college and it really irritates me to see how horrible the conditions are on Al Khail road. I hope I don't get hit by a truck one day.
