Stop disregarding road rules

Gulf News reader calls on authorities to curb reckless driving during rush hours in Mussafah industrial area underpass

Motorists passing through the first underpass in the Mussafah industrial area tend to take the law into their own hands and ignore traffic regulations completely.

During rush hours, drivers use their "extraordinary" skills to overtake other vehicles by driving on the hard shoulder. This practice could cause major collisions at the slightest fault.

Why should those waiting patiently in line have to tolerate the behaviour of these impatient few? Motorists who are unconcerned about road rules must be penalised for their potentially dangerous actions.

While there are police patrols around Abu Dhabi, there is a greater need for their presence in this particular area.

I urge the authorities to end this menace at the earliest so people can drive in peace.
