Saif meets special needs centre users

Palestinians arrived in the UAE last month

Abu Dhabi: Lieutenant General Shaikh Saif Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior, met on Wednesday with Palestinians who had enrolled in the ministry's special needs rehabilitation and employment centre.

Shaikh Saif emphasised the distinguished ties that bind the UAE's leadership and people with the brotherly Palestinian people which are based on history and religion, and true affection towards all Palestinians by their brothers in the UAE.

Shaikh Saif also emphasised the keenness of President His Highness Shaikh Khalifa Bin Zayed Al Nahyan and the supreme leadership in the country in offering all forms of assistance and aid to the victims of the last Israeli invasion of Gaza.

Some 22 Palestinians with various special needs arrived at Abu Dhabi airport in October following a humanitarian gesture by the UAE.

Some 11 special needs people from Lebanon had arrived at the centre earlier, the move emphasises the UAE's continuing policy in supporting Arabs in all circumstances.

President His Highness Shaikh Khalifa Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, received a message from Valdis Zatlers, President of Latvia, on relations between the two countries. The message was received by Shaikh Abdullah Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Foreign Minister, when he received Maris Riekstins, Latvian Foreign Minister, yesterday. Shaikh Abdullah also received a note from Valdis Dombrovskis, Latvian Prime Minister to His Highness Shaikh Mohammad Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice-President and Prime Minister of UAE and Ruler of Dubai.
