Dubai: With the humanitarian crisis in Lebanon mounting, the UAE branch of the Young Arab Leaders has launched a relief appeal.

Coordinating with the Emirati-Lebanese Friendship Association, the Young Arab Leaders (YAL-UAE) have so far managed to collect and dispatch around 130 tonnes of relief material, including canned food, powdered milk and blankets and tents to support displaced families.

"Our campaign is in response to the initiative of the UAE rulers, and in support of the Red Crescent Authority's work in Lebanon," said Mohammad Khammas, Vice-President, YAL-UAE chapter.

YAL members work to make an impact in their communities and the region as a whole. For more information, contact helplebanon@yaleaders.org.

Supplies

The UAE Red Crescent Authority (RCA) announced yesterday that it will send a ship loaded with supplies to Lebanon as part of its campaign to assist the Lebanese people affected by the ongoing israeli aggression.

"The ship will sail within the next two days after implementation of the instructions of General Shaikh Mohammad Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Abu Dhabi Crown Prince and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces, to dispatch urgent humanitarian assistance to Lebanon and the follow up of Shaikh Hamdan Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister and the RCA chairman," said Saleh Al Mulla, Acting RCS Secretary-General.
