Projects against child abuse to get funds

Abu Dhabi The Emirates Foundation has announced grants of up to Dh250,000 to fund projects that highlight the issues of neglect, physical, sexual and psychological abuse of children in the UAE.

The aim of the Family Challenges grant competition is to strengthen the role of organisations that work with children who are under threat from, or are suffering from, abuse. The grant will fund existing projects, launch or run new programmes, workshops and aid training courses that deal with child abuse.

The competition is open to all organisations that are federally licensed and are working on UAE family or children's projects.

Successful candidates will receive up to Dh250,000 spread over a maximum of two years.
