One drowns, another survives off Al Khan beach

Sharjah: A 20-year-old Pakistani drowned at Al Khan beach while his 19-year-old friend was taken to hospital after they spent time at the beach over the weekend, a Sharjah Police official told Gulf News.

The body of the victim, identified as Sh.A., was recovered by the police rescue team and moved to Al Kuwaiti Hospital.

The other Pakistani teenager, identified as M.F.M.N., was taken to Al Kuwaiti Hospital. His condition is reported to be critical .

The official said the police received a call from a beach-goer about the accident at around 6.20pm. Witnesses said the victim was struggling to swim.
