No contaminated hazelnuts in Abu Dhabi market

Abu Dhabi: Abu Dhabi market free from hazelnut products suspected of containing bacteria, Abu Dhabi Food Control Authority (ADFCA) has confirmed after an intensive inspection.
 
"Our inspectors have ensured that no such products are in the market", said Mohammad Jalal Al Reyaysa, Manager of Communication and Information Department at ADFCA.

As Gulf News reported on Tuesday, the hazelnut brands such as Oregon hazelnut, Canadian hazelnut and Firstone Farms may have salmonella bacteria according to a warning issued by FDA (US Food and Drug Administration).

The products manufactured between October 12 and November 25 might be contaminated, the FDA had warned.

The Spanish eggs suspected of being infected with a new strain of bird flu - H7N7, have not entered the Abu Dhabi market, thanks to the ban imposed by the UAE Ministry of Environment and Water, the official said. "Those poultry products have already been screened at the boarder", Al Reyaysa said.
