New project will train Arab youth to be future leaders

Dubai: The Young Arab Leaders (YAL) organisation, the region's foremost development platform for business, public sector and civil society leaders in the Middle East, on Sunday announced its Learning from the Future Project in partnership with The British Council.

It comes under the patronage of His Highness Shaikh Mohammad Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice- President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai.

The project follows the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding between YAL and the British Council which aims to equip young people from partner youth organisations around the Arab world with the skills to face the challenges facing the region in the future.

A major youth meeting will launch the project on April 21 in Dubai. The launch will bring together 120 young people from 13 Arab countries, the UK and other countries.

Commenting on the partnership, Dr Omar Bin Sulaiman, Chairman of the Board of Directors, YAL, said: "YAL is committed to working towards building a prosperous environment by creating opportunities for Arab leaders in education, leadership development and entrepreneurship.
