New book sheds light on Zayed's humanitarian side
Abu Dhabi: The late Shaikh Zayed Bin Sultan Al Nahyan always upheld the principles of benevolence and humanitarian work, and encouraged others all through his life to protect the values of human generosity, wrote Shaikh Hamdan Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister and Chairman of Red Crescent Authority in the preface to a new book on the late leader of the nation.
The book looks at late Shaikh Zayed from a humanitarian perspective and chronicles his efforts to bring peace and happiness in the lives of people by way of alleviating their pains and sufferings.
Shaikh Zayed never waited to respond at times of need, and he put the wealth at the disposal of people. Shaikh Zayed's humanitarian efforts surpassed all barriers of ethnic, religious and national considerations, Shaikh Hamdan wrote.
The book also sheds light on the Zayed Charity initiative founded in 2003 to give healthcare for thousands of poor worldwide.
The release of the new book coincides with the fourth death anniversary of Shaikh Zayed.
