In my previous community report, I mentioned that an overgrown bush was obstructing the pathway on Al Mankhool Road and causing an inconvenience to passers-by.

However, as I walked on the same road one morning, a very pleasant sight greeted me. The entire pathway was completely clear and pedestrians were easily able to walk on the pavement.

Not only was the obstructing bush cut, but other shrubs nearby were also trimmed, making it a very comfortable walk. I had no problem whatsoever taking my baby in the stroller this time and I realised that I was walking with a smile on my face.

My only concern is that although the bush was removed completely, I would have preferred it to have been trimmed. It may have been an obstruction for many pedestrians, but it was still green with life.

I was happy at the prompt response from the authorities, yet saddened that the plant was completely removed.

The pathways of Dubai are made beautiful because of the green plants and fauna. I kindly request the authorities to keep maintaining them with occasional trimming, so that they do not pose a hindrance to passers-by.

I also take this opportunity to thank and appreciate Dubai Municipality for their prompt action and would like to extend my appreciation to Gulf News for giving me an opportunity to highlight this issue.
