Ras Al Khaimah: A Bangladeshi immigration violator died when he suffered a heart attack while trying to hide in a half-empty water tanker in the remote far southern areas.

A senior police officer said the 29-year-old victim violated UAE immigration laws over the past six months, and his sponsor had earlier reported him to the concerned authorities, who started looking for him.

The officer said a child discovered the victim's dead body in the water tanker by chance.

The hysterical child reported the gruesome find to his family, who in turn reported it to the emirate's police.

The officer said police investigators went to the scene where they found the victim's body along with his passport and pieces of clothing.

The police officer said the water tanker was located under a tree in southern Al Wa'ab, near Al Munaie area.

Investigations

Initial investigations showed the victim used the water tanker as a shelter to hide from the police and other authorities who were looking for him.

The police officer said once the victim's dead body had been recovered from the water tanker, a forensic expert was summoned to the scene who conducted the necessary medical examinations.

Initial examinations revealed that the victim died following a serious heart attack that he suffered while he was hiding in the empty water tanker. There were no indications of suspicious activities.

The victim's body was referred to the police morgue, to be handed over to his family and friends for burial.
