Little fellow who left a big impression

I had wanted a pet ever since I moved to Dubai. As soon as I had the money, space and ability to take care of a "special companion", I went to the nearest pet store to see which one I could adopt.

Never did I expect a Chihuahua to steal my heart the moment we met. His energy and friendly face won me over and I left with my new buddy and all the accessories we would need. I named him Gizmo.

Gizmo adapted to his new environment very quickly and house training him was a breeze. Soon, he became the man of the house and visitors were forced to pamper him to gain his trust.

Gizzy would always be happy when I got home from work and would excitedly bark in anticipation before I even reached the front door. He always looked happy and contented and made my life in Dubai truly joyful. Some days ago, a housemate accidentally left the front door open and Gizmo may have ventured outside to see if I was there, as he always walked me to my car when I left for work.

Normally, he would run back home because he knew his way around and never went far away on his own. However, on that day, Gizmo did not return and a friend called to tell me that he was missing.

Shock soon gave way to panic and I went home to look for him. I spent hours walking around the area calling his name, hoping he would come bounding back to me.

Gizmo went missing on January 9 on Street 16 in Abu Hail area, in Dubai, at about 3pm. He has been micro-chipped and I have all his documents. The only thing I did not do is register him at the municipality, as I was not informed to do so when I bought my dog.

I miss Gizmo with all my heart and I am sure he misses me just as much.

I would give up the few possessions I have just to know that my little bundle of joy would be back to brighten my day. I do not have money to offer a reward, so all I can do is plead to anyone who has information to come forward, so I can find Gizzy and bring him home.
