Balanced and objective
I recently visited Dubai on holiday and have been enjoying reading Gulf News online since my return to the US. The website is a great place for an American to get a broader view and more context about events happening in the world. So far, I am impressed with the balance and objectivity of the newspaper. I love Dubai, and the feeling that anything is possible there. I look forward to returning some day.

Odd reports
Gulf News is the benchmark for journalism in the Middle East. My favourite is the Nation section. I like reading interesting and odd court/police stories. However, it seems that some reports tend to beat around the bush. But, the newspaper is very up-to-date, especially the website. There is always room for improvement.

Unbeatable
I was told that there was one newspaper that was available in India that pertained to the GCC, which was also online. I discovered that it was Gulf News. The first time I went to the website I found the reports very interesting, their content and quality unmatchable. I would like to read more about the Palestinian people's plight and hope that Gulf News publishes more reports about them, so their readers would know the problems what they are facing daily.

Latest news
I started reading Gulf News eight years ago, when I first arrived in the UAE. I used to buy the newspapers on road stands before they stopped selling them a few years ago. That was when I subscribed to Gulf News.

I enjoy catching up on what is happening in the country through the Nation section. I also like to be up to date on what is happening in the business world, so I read the oil and gas reports as well as the comments and analysis pieces.

Other sections that I turn to are the Opinion, Region and Sport section. If something catches my eye while I'm browsing through the newspaper then I would read it. Overall, the newspaper is a very good source of information.

Catches the eye
What first attracted me to Gulf News was how colourful it seems and I love the way the graphics are presented in the newspaper. But what made me subscribe to it was the quality of the content in the reports. When I read Explore, I always feel as though I have taken a vacation to the destinations described.

I enjoy leafing through the Freehold and Properties sections because I am always fascinated by what is happening in the real estate world. I think that it's great that readers are able to submit photographs, which are then published. The only thing I think would be helpful for Gulf News readers is if a table of contents is published in the newspaper.

Help educate
I think that Gulf News should educate drivers about the features available in cars that help when dealing with poor visibility and rain. You should publish a report explaining them since it appears that UAE drivers are oblivious about the features. For example, using the front and rear fog lamps to see and be seen. Also, the functions of the rear windscreen defog button and how to set the air conditioner to defog the front windscreen.

Revamp
I have been reading Gulf News almost daily, ever since I arrived in the UAE three years ago. My favourite sections are Opinion, Business, World and Nation. I also like browsing the appointments and the classifieds because they are more extensive than other newspapers and are much more organised. But when I try to search the classifieds online, I find that the GNAds4U is not user-friendly. If I had seen a classified listing in Gulf News a few days ago, I cannot locate it online.

Raises awareness
I have been living in Dubai for ten years and think that Gulf News is a good newspaper. It brings up issues that people really want to read about. My favourite sections include the Nation as well as those that provide entertainment for readers, such as tabloid! The layout is great and I noticed the recent changes to it. There isn't enough news about the environment. People need to be aware of what's happening. Other than that, Gulf News is doing a good job.
