Many beautiful moments
August 21, 2005, and February 14, 2007 — none other than Gulf News made two of the most memorable days of my life. It was on August 21 that staff writer Sudeshna Ghosh made my day when she wrote the article 'Pet Passion', in which my dad and his buddy, African parrot Chiku, were featured.

The article was well written and my family would also like to thank Abdul Rahman, Gulf News photographer who had come to our house and captured the beautiful images. Then came February 14, 2007. I will never forget that day. It was Valentine's Day, but it was made more memorable because of yet another beautiful article.

Mine is a love marriage that took place in the UAE. Many of my colleagues got to know this after reading the article. Apart from these I am a regular contributor to the 'Letters to the Editor' [Your Turn]. In fact, there are lots and lots of beautiful moments I have had with Gulf News.

No chauvinism in Gulf News
The most interesting article I have ever read in Gulf News was 'Husband Bashing' published in tabloid!, November 2005. That was a real eye-opener. I had known about family quarrels, but I did not imagine that the reality could be so frightening, like poor husbands getting stabbed.

I have kept that article safe with me ever since, and I don't hesitate to show it to anyone who tries to lecture me about the joys of love. Since then, Gulf News has been publishing other reports of husbands being abused or molested and about those who commit suicide unable to bear married life any longer.

This is what I love about Gulf News. It is the only paper I have read that gives attention to abused men as much as abused women. And that is exactly how it should be — no chauvinism. Thank you Gulf News very much, and keep up the good work.

A good journey
In 10 years of my stay in the UAE, there is one thing that has made a difference in my life and that is undoubtedly Gulf News. When I came to the UAE, I had to find a place to stay. I started by buying used furniture/electronics for my house. Gulf News Classifieds was the only reliable source to sort out my housing and furnishing problems.

When I needed to change my jobs, Gulf News Appointments was the most preferred choice. After I saved some money and needed to invest, I again used Gulf News to invest in real estate. My decision was based on facts and advertisements appearing in the property section. Once I bought my house, I again used Gulf News to sell my old furniture.

When I needed to find tenants for my properties, I again used the newspaper. Now it is mandatory to read Gulf News on a daily basis. At each stage I needed reliable information and it was available in Gulf News. Thank you, as the newspaper has made a lot of difference in my life.

Keep it simple
I have been reading Gulf News online for the past two months. I have come to know about many things through Gulf News, and I can share this with others. The simple use of language is the best part about the newspaper.

Great variety
Great work Gulf News! I cannot believe the newspaper actually made such a long journey. I love the variety but Friday magazine lacks humour (seriously)! I changed my jobs with the help of Gulf News Appointments. I have been a subscriber for five years.

A common denominator
Congratulations to Gulf News and wishes for it to continue with its strong vision and honest reporting. I am a regular reader of Gulf News since I arrived in the UAE, in 1998. It helped me find a job and a car.

One of my neighbours won a flat through its promotions. Once again I wish Gulf News the very best for its news coverage. The difference between Gulf News and the other newspapers is that it's read by most nationalities.
