Khalifa receives condolence cables from leaders on Maitha's death

Abu Dhabi: President His Highness Shaikh Khalifa Bin Zayed Al Nahyan yesterday received cables of condolences on the death of Shaikha Maitha Bint Mohammad Bin Khalifa Al Nahyan from Qatari Emir Shaikh Hamad Bin Khalifa Al Thani and Kuwait's Emir Shaikh Sabah Al Jaber Al Sabah.

Dr Shaikh Sultan Bin Mohammad Al Qasimi, Supreme Council member and Ruler of Sharjah, also sent a cable of condolence to Shaikh Khalifa.

Shaikh Khalifa also received cables of condolences from Shaikh Tamim Bin Hamad Al Thani, Qatari Crown Prince, Shaikh Nawaf Al Ahmad Al Jaber, Kuwaiti Crown Prince, Shaikh Hamad Bin Jasem Bin Jabr Al Thani, Qatari Prime Minister and Foreign Minister, Shaikh Jaber Al Mubarak Al Hamad Al Sabah, Kuwaiti Prime Minister.

Shaikh Khalifa received cable of condolences from Bahraini Crown Prince Prince Salman Bin Hamad Al Khalifa.

Prince Salman sent similar cables to His Highness Shaikh Mohammad Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice-President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, and General Shaikh Mohammad Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Abu Dhabi Crown Prince and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces.

Meanwhile, General Shaikh Mohammad, Shaikh Tahnoun Bin Mohammad Al Nahyan, the Ruler's Representative in the Eastern Region, and Shaikh Hamdan Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, the Ruler's Representative in the Western Region, yesterday offered funeral prayers for Shaikha Maitha.

Performing the prayers also were Shaikh Saif Bin Mohammad Al Nahyan, Shaikh Hazza Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, National Security Adviser; Lieutenant General Shaikh Saif Bin Zayed Al Nahyan Deputy Prime Minister and Interior Minister; Shaikh Hamed Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Chairman of Court of the Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi; Shaikh Omar Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Vice-Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the Zayed Bin Sultan Al Nahyan Charitable and Humanitarian Foundation and Shaikh Khalid Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Chairman of Etihad Airways,

Shaikh Sultan Bin Hamdan Al Nahyan, Adviser to the President; Ahmad Khalifa Al Suwaidi, Representative of the President; Dr Shaikh Saeed Bin Mohammad Al Nahyan; Shaikh Nahyan Bin Mubarak Al Nahyan, Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research; Shaikh Sultan Bin Tahnoun Al Nahyan, and a number of shaikhs, also joined the prayers at the Shaikh Sultan Bin Zayed Mosque in Al Muwaiji in Al Ain city.
