Journalist Robert Fisk coming to UAE after several cancellations

Abu Dhabi: Award winning journalist Robert Fisk will finally be coming to the UAE to launch his new book after several attempts to leave Lebanon failed due to the closure of the Beirut Airport.

Fisk was scheduled to arrive in the UAE on May 10 to make an appearance at Jashanmal Bookstores in Dubai and Abu Dhabi to unveil his latest book, The Age of the Warrior, which is a collection of his writings from Britain's Saturday Independent newspaper.

Fisk, 61, has been working as a journalist in the Middle East for the past 30 years and has won numerous awards for his work.

His criticism of President George W. Bush's 'war on terror' and his authoritative investigative reporting has made him an expert in the region.

He will be in Dubai's Mall of the Emirates at Jashanmal Bookstore on Saturday June 7 starting from 11am to 1pm for a book signing event. He will also be in Abu Dhabi Mall's Jashanmal Bookstore at 5pm to 7pm the same day.
