Huge crowd expected for Terry Fox Run

Dubai: Organisers of the yearly Terry Fox charity run are expecting record attendance at today's event at Al Mamzar Park.

The International Organising Committee for the Terry Fox Foundation has revealed that the last Annual Dubai Terry Fox Run was the second biggest in the world by participation, and the third biggest in terms of revenue.

"Every year we are amazed at the level of enthusiasm for and participation in the Dubai Terry Fox Run, which has become one of Dubai's best loved charity events," Dave Barette, Chairman of the organising committee, said. "And this year is no exception with thousands pre-registering, from schools to companies.

"The last run attracted some 10,000 participants, and resulted in excess of Dh500,000 being raised, taking the total since the outset to more than Dh6 million," he said.
