Youngsters 'have brought innovation'

Abu Dhabi: Dr Saeed Al Ghufli, Executive Director of the Ministry of State for Federal National Council Affairs, highlighted the important role played by the Council in the process of political transition in the UAE and urged youngsters to play a more active role through political participation.

Addressing a seminar on 'The importance of parliamentary life and political participation in the UAE' at the University of Sharjah , Dr Ghufli said the Federal National Council (FNC) elections held in 2006 has brought several young national leaders to the forefront.

"These young minds have brought in innovative thinking and dynamism to the proceedings of FNC."

He highlighted the vital role played by FNC in supporting the government by hosting discussions between ministers and council members for drafting legislation.
