UAE, Oman review ways to boost bilateral ties

Muscat : Sultan Qaboos Bin Saeed of Oman received on Monday at Bait Al Baraka General Shaikh Mohammad Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces, who is visiting Oman at the invitation of Sultan Qaboos.

In the meeting — attended by Shaikh Mansour Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Presidential Affairs — Sultan Qaboos and Shaikh Mohammad reviewed bilateral relations and ways to enhance them.

Shaikh Mohammad expressed pleasure in meeting Sultan Qaboos and Omani officials, saying that the UAE, under the wise leadership of President His Highness Shaikh Khalifa Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, had always sought to strengthen fraternal ties with the leadership and people of Oman.

Shaikh Mohammad stressed the importance of exchanging visits to further deepen ties between the two brotherly countries. He also emphasised the need to open more avenues for cooperation in all fields, the joint coordination and continuous support to the special bonds between Oman and the UAE.

He described relations between the two countries as "a perfect example for well-founded ties on the basis of true fraternity, mutual trust and respect and common interests."

Shaikh Mohammad attended the Annual Royal Horse Race Festival for Arabians and thoroughbreds. He also took part in honouring winners.

Shaikh Mohammad also met with Fahd Bin Mahmoud Al Saeed, Oman's Deputy Prime Minister for Cabinet Affairs, Asaad Bin Tariq Al Saeed, the Sultan's Representative, and Ali Bin Hamad Al Busaidi, Minister of the Diwan of the Ruler's Court.

Strengthening ties

They discussed means to strengthen bilateral relations, as well as other topics of mutual interest.

Shaikh Mohammad is accompanied on his visit by Hamad Al Hurr Al Suwaidi, Undersecretary of the Abu Dhabi Finance Department, Mohammad Mubarak Al Mazroui, Undersecretary of the Abu Dhabi Crown Prince's Court, Hussain Al Nowais, Chairman of the Khalifa Fund, and Mohammad Saif Al Suwaidi, Director General of the Abu Dhabi Fund for Development.
