UAE Interact available on smartphones

Abu Dhabi: UAE Interact, the news and information website operated in conjunction with the National Media Council, yesterday released its mobile device version that enables users to access readable text and images on their iPhones or other smartphones.

The website, which has been online since 1995 and contains an archive of approximately 100,000 catalogued and searchable news stories on the UAE, recently underwent a major technical and design update aimed at enhancing user experience of the site.

Direct links to Facebook and Twitter sites are complemented by improved statistical information, tracking most popular stories and an ‘easy reader' facility that automatically enlarges text for reference purposes.

The website has one of the most comprehensive archives of news and information on the UAE with daily news updates and links to numerous online resources. It also contains many short films on the UAE and is used as a reference, education and training resource by a wide range of public and private institutions.

The main site is in English with connected sites in Arabic, French, German, Spanish and Korean.
