Abu Dhabi: Lieutenant General Shaikh Saif Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Interior Minister, has called on citizens, particularly those being naturalised, to be good citizens and observe their duties and national obligations.

"Proper citizenship is not only documents but allegiance to the country, leadership and observing of the specified societal values embedded in the heritage, religious values and laws," Shaikh Saif said.

"The UAE community is cognizant about the distinguished role of the country in the world map as economic, commercial and tourism hub," he said.

Shaikh Saif said the seeds sowed by the forefathers and fathers, led by the late Shaikh Zayed Bin Sultan Al Nahyan, are yielding fruits in the form of current prosperity, which is now being sponsored by the UAE leadership under President His Highness Shaikh Khalifa Bin Zayed Al Nahyan.

Shaikh Saif commended the characteristics of Emirati, who is ready to accept change positively and adapts to it based on acquired skills and knowledge.

He called on police officers and personnel at the ministry to exert utmost efforts to ensure security and stability in the country, as well as boosting the UAE as an oasis of security and prosperity in a world filled with turmoil.
