Shaikh Khalifa says that resolutions and common visions coming out of the summit would boost GCC efforts towards full integration
Kuwait: The 30th GCC summit is being convened amidst highly critical circumstances in light of a raft of developments in the region and the world at large, President His Highness Shaikh Khalifa Bin Zayed Al Nahyan said on Monday.
"This requires us to reach a common, collective vision, mobilise our efforts and coordinate our stances at all levels in order to maintain our security and stability," Shaikh Khalifa said in a statement upon arriving in Kuwait.
"Through our important meeting under these surrounding circumstances, we renew our determination to support our council and our keenness to boost the drive of our joint action in various developmental, economic, social and cultural fields in order to preserve our interests and realise aspirations of our peoples for security, stability, progress and prosperity," Shaikh Khalifa said.
He said that resolutions and common visions coming out of the summit would boost GCC efforts towards full integration and push the GCC joint action towards new horizons that serve interests of GCC countries and peoples.
Shaikh Khalifa was welcomed upon arrival by Kuwaiti Emir Shaikh Sabah Al Ahmad Al Sabah, Kuwaiti Crown Prince Shaikh Nawaf Al Sabah, Prime Minister Shaikh Nasser Al Sabah, GCC Secretary-General Abdul Rahman Al Attiyah and other senior Kuwaiti officials.
