Mohammad orders 777 prisoners to be released

Dubai: His Highness Shaikh Mohammad Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice-President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, has ordered the release of 777 prisoners to mark Ramadan.

The prisoners, both citizens and expatriates, who have served various terms at the reformative and punitive institutions in Dubai, will soon be released enabling them to join their families in the month of fasting.

Attorney General of Dubai Essam Eisa Al Humaidan said that the public prosecution has started coordinating with Dubai Police to implement the order at the earliest.

He expressed sincere gratitude to Shaikh Mohammad for this gesture of benevolence, which gives the prisoners the opportunity to return to their families and integrate with society again to start a new life.
