Mohammad Bin Rashid chairs Cabinet meeting
Abu Dhabi: The Council of Ministers has lauded President His Highness Shaikh Khalifa Bin Zayed Al Nahyan's decision to allocate Dh16 billion to develop infrastructure in the northern emirates.
In a meeting held on Sunday at the presidential palace under the chairmanship of His Highness Shaikh Mohammad Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice-President and Prime Minister of UAE and Ruler of Dubai, the Cabinet said the initiative reflected Shaikh Khalifa's keenness to provide decent living standards and to raise economic and social status of UAE citizens.
The Cabinet approved a memorandum submitted by Shaikh Abdullah Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Foreign Minister, on UAE's potential development of a peaceful nuclear energy programme.
Shaikh Abdullah said the UAE will publish the programme's full details, in keeping with its approach of absolute transparency in dealing with the international community.
He said an awareness drive will be launched to enlighten UAE citizens about the programme.
