Khalifa visits famous landmarks in Turkmenistan
Ashgabat: President His Highness Shaikh Khalifa Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, accompanied by Turkmen Foreign Minister Rashit Meredov, visited the tomb of the late Turkmen president Saparmurat Niyazov in Kypchak and laid flowers.
Shaikh Khalifa also visited the city's grand mosque, which is the largest mosque in Central Asia, and praised the country's development.
The President then visited the Independence Monument in Ashgabat. The President visited the Niyazov Museum and wrote in the visitors' register: "I would like to express my satisfaction at the relations between our two friendly countries, the foundations of which were set by the late president Saparmurat."
The President attended a lunch banquet hosted by the Turkmen President in his honour, before concluding his state visit to Turkmenistan and starting a personal visit to the country.
