Khalifa leaves for Syria on Thursday
Abu Dhabi: President His Highness Shaikh Khalifa Bin Zayed Al Nahyan will leave for Damascus tomorrow to participate in the 20th Arab Summit, to be held from March 29 to 30.
The President will head a high-level delegation, comprising Shaikh Maktoum Bin Mohammad Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Deputy Ruler of Dubai; Shaikh Mansour Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Minister of Presidential Affairs; Shaikh Abdullah Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Foreign Minister; Shaikha Lubna Al Qasimi, Minister of Foreign Trade; Ahmad Juma Al Za'abi, Deputy Minister for Presidential Affairs, and Yousuf Al Medfai, UAE Ambassador to Syria.
The two-day summit will discuss Arab, regional and international issues with Palestine, Lebanon, and Iraq topping its agenda. The Lebanese crisis and the Arab initiative to reach a compromise between Lebanese parties will also be on the summit's agenda.
