Khalifa honours five winners of Emirates Appreciation Award

Abu Dhabi: President His Highness Shaikh Khalifa Bin Zayed Al Nahyan yesterday honoured the first five winners of the Emirates Appreciation Award for Science, Arts and Literature.

The five Emirati winners were honoured during the National Day celebrations held at Emirates Palace for their contribution in medicine, arts and literature.

The function was also attended by His Highness Shaikh Mohammad Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice- President and Prime Minister of UAE and Ruler of Dubai, Their Highnesses Members of the Supreme Council and Rulers of the Emirates, General Shaikh Mohammad Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Abu Dhabi Crown Prince and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces, Deputy Rulers and Crown Princes of emirates, diplomats, shaikhs and top government officials.

The winners were Dr Najeeb Mohammad Al Khaja (medicine), Mohammad Ahmad Al Murr (literary work), Dr Fatima Hassan Al Sayegh (research), Eid Al Faraj (music) and Abdul Qader Al Rais (creative arts).
