Khalifa and Mohammad hold talks with Japanese Prime Minister Abe
Abu Dhabi: : President His Highness Shaikh Khalifa Bin Zayed Al Nahyan yesterday held talks with Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe on the regional and international developments, especially the Middle East peace process and the situation in Iraq.
They also discussed bilateral relations and ways to boost them in all fields.
Shaikh Khalifa stressed the importance of cooperation in trade and investment sectors and expressed hope that Abe's visit would help enhance relations in all sectors.
Shaikh Khalifa highlighted the vital role played by Japan in maintaining stability and security in Iraq.
Earlier, His Highness Shaikh Mohammad Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice-President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, exchanged views with Abe on ways to develop trade and investment. Shaikh Mohammad termed the Japanese Premier's visit as a turning point in the bilateral UAE-Japan relations.
Abe expressed delight at the fruitful talks with Shaikh Khalifa and Shaikh Mohammad. He said the visit was aimed at acquainting himself with the amazing progress made by the UAE in all walks of life under the wise leadership of Shaikh Khalifa.
