Foundation will help the needy
Dubai: His Highness Shaikh Mohammad Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice-President and Prime Minister of the UAE, in his capacity as Ruler of Dubai, on Thursday issued a law setting up the Dubai Cares Foundation.
Dubai Cares will be a non-government foundation that enjoys an independent corporate body, and will work to collect money and donations from inside and outside Dubai to achieve the foundation's targets.
These targets include providing necessary aid for needy people all over the world, assisting and enabling civil societies, especially women and children, and combating poverty around the world, as well as protecting and enhancing human dignity.
It will also support and enable civil society to achieve human development targets and support voluntary social work and sustainable human development efforts, inside and outside the emirate.
The law stipulates it shall have a board of directors of not less than five members including the chairman, to be appointed by the Ruler. The foundation can set up branches in any country to deliver its message at all levels through its activities, meetings, and direct communication with various establishments.
