Abu Dhabi Crown Prince Mohammad Bin Zayed visits Sharjah

Sharjah: General Shaikh Mohammad Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Abu Dhabi Crown Prince and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces on Thursday attended a lunch banquet hosted in his honour by Rashid Mohammad Obaid Al Suwaidi at his residence in Al Khan, Sharjah.

Shaikh Mohammad exchanged greetings with Al Suwaidi and his family, who expressed their joy at Shaikh Mohammad’s visit. Shaikh Mohammad also met with residents of Al Khan area and enquired about their needs.

“My visit today is a continuation of an approach that began with the late Shaikh Zayed Bin Sultan Al Nahyan and the UAE’s founding fathers, to visit Emirati citizens in their areas of residence and enquiring about their status and needs. This approach is also being followed by President His Highness Shaikh Khalifa Bin Zayed Al Nahyan,” Shaikh Mohammad said.

“This approach is a true reflection of the cohesion between the UAE’s leadership and people,” Shaikh Mohammad said.

The development and progress achieved by the UAE had been made possible due to the sustained and dedicated efforts of the country’s leaders over generations while making many sacrifices to ensure a good life for future generations, Shaikh Mohammad said. “We are very confident that we are capable of securing a good life for our children and grandchildren who will remember us fondly, just like we remember the efforts of our forefathers.”

Shaikh Mohammad added: “My visit to Emiratis is a true reflection of our joy in meeting and speaking with you. The feeling of love and openness is mutual, just as you express your feelings and aspirations for serving the nation. All of us in the UAE, under the leadership of Shaikh Khalifa, share the same feelings of loyalty and love for our country, and we are always keen to further enhance its reputation and status.”

Residents expressed their happiness at the opportunity to meet Shaikh Mohammad and said the visit reflected the strong bond between the UAE leadership and people. They praised Shaikh Mohammad’s effort to ascertain the needs and requirements of citizens.

A poet renewed the memory of a visit by Shaikh Zayed to Al Khan in verse on the occasion.

Shaikh Mohammad was accompanied on the visit by Mohammad Ahmad Al Bawardi, member of the Abu Dhabi Executive Council, and other officials.
