Fujairah Corniche to become 'top quality family destination'
Fujairah: The final stages of redevelopment at Fujairah corniche are underway as work on the Corniche Park was stepped up on Monday.
Labourers from Fujairah's Public Works and Agriculture Department were hard at work preparing to turn the brown corniche soil into a lush green family space.
Fujairah's long corniche strip is, by far, the city's most popular outdoor location attracting families and visitors, in particular.
However, the lack of green space and amenities has for so long put off many residents who would prefer to make the short trip to the nearby Sharjah coastal towns. Recently introduced children play areas and benches have helped attract more visitors and now officials have promised further improvements.
Salim Al Mukassah, Director of Fujairah's Public Works and Agriculture Department, told Gulf News the long-term plans aim to make the area a top quality family destination.
