Forum to combat human trafficking launched

Dubai: A few cases this year saw the human trafficking of young Iraqi girls from their war-torn home country, sold by their parents to work in prostitution, a senior official said.

Human trafficking is a global problem which is considered the second most lucrative criminal operation after illegal weapons trading, Afra Al Basti, CEO of Dubai Foundation for Women and Children, said at a press conference to announce the launch of the annual forum to combat human trafficking.
