Female Boeing executive shares experience
Dubai: More than 60 of the UAE's female business leaders attended a seminar by a top female Boeing executive.
Julie Ellen Acosta, Vice President of Leadership Development of Boeing lead the seminar, hosted by Dubai Women Establishment (DWE), headed by chairwoman Mona Al Merri.
Acosta's participation was in line with DWE's objective to prepare Emirati women leaders in the framework of their endeavours, to open more channels for them in order to take advantage of the characteristics of women's experiences in life and business leadership, and provide them with the greatest possible training and educational seminars.
Challenges
Acosta shared her experience of working with Boeing, and spoke about the major challenges faced by a woman within society. She also talked about how to achieve great successes.
Acosta also invited the participants to benefit from the experiences of others by pointing to women's ability to cope with difficult challenges, adapt them to streamline their lives and personal process and allow them to support the development of their country.
In this context, Mona Al Merri welcomed Acosta's visit, and valued her efforts in cooperation with establishment to support women's attempts to achieve the greatest possible involvement in the community.
Mona said: "Emirati women have many capabilities that allow them to excel at the level of their counterparts around the world. All they need are a suitable environment and tools that allow them to engage at the highest ranks in the labour market and encourage them to have a work-life balance."
Mona pointed out that the recent launch of the five-year strategic plan of DWE is to enhance UAE women's role in the country, as a step to prepare the establishment to extend its role to go regional and international as well.
