Motorists could be fined for parking incorrectly even though they can hardly see the boundaries in the designated areas
I would like to bring to the notice of the authorities in Sharjah, an issue that is occurring in most places around the city. Lines that separate parking spaces in parking lots have either faded or are completely invisible.
This often creates confusion while parking and we may be fined for parking incorrectly, even though we may think our cars are within the lines.
I have seen such faded parking lines on Bank Street, where I work and often park my car.
Other areas with this problem include Al Wahda Street, which is one of the busiest areas of Sharjah.
So far, I have not been fined, because after parking my car, I make it a point to check carefully whether I have parked correctly and within the appropriate boundaries.
This has become a regular exercise for people like me. I am sure many others may have noticed such faded lines around the city.
I feel that if we have to adhere to a rule — parking within the boundaries — then there should be clear markings so that we are not wrongly implicated.
I request the concerned authorities to take up this issue immediately and start repainting the lines in parking lots. This would undoubtedly help vehicle owners to stick to the rules and avoid paying unnecessary fines.
A gentle reminder to car owners — please park your cars within the marked boundaries, otherwise you may pose an inconvenience to other motorists.
