Al Ain: People staying out at night must take extra protection as weathermen expect a gradual fall in temperature at night till the weekend.

The country is witnessing windy conditions for the last several days. The chilly winds are coming from the Siberian region. The cold and windy conditions are expected to continue."We expect the winds would start weakening from midday [today]," said a duty forecaster at the Met Office at Dubai International Airport.

This, he said, will lead to a gradual increase in daytime and a fall in night temperatures across the country. The winds are currently blowing at a speed of 15 to 18 knots.

The maximum temperature in Dubai is 19C and will drop to 15C at night, he said.

Al Ain was the coldest yesterday night with the minimum temperature falling to 8C. The forecaster also warned people to stay away from the sea as it would continue to be dangerous with 10 to 15 feet high waves.

According to the weather outlook of the National Centre of Meteorology and Seismology for the next 48 hours, conditions would continue to be partly cloudy to fair and rather cold.

Winds would kick off dust and sand in the western and interior parts of the country.
