Dubai: It will start getting breezy starting today as a moderate Shammal blows across the Emirates which will bring down the temperature to 30 degrees Celsius, according to the Dubai met office.

The winds will fan up a light dust haze, but visibility will be good at 3,000 metres and will not affect flight operations.

But the Shammal winds will get stronger from tomorrow onwards with winds at between 15 to 20 knots, whipping up waves and making the seas choppy, Dr S.K. Gupta, duty forecaster said.

He said it will start getting cooler for the next three days onwards.

The temperature is expected to drop down to 27 degrees Celsius by tomorrow and the minimum will be 19 degrees Celsius.

The winds will be coming in from the North West. Kuwait suffered a heavy 'brown out' as the winds whipped up a dust storm on Friday dropping visibility to 50 meters and then moved on to Qatar.

Famous landmarks of Dubai were shrouded in a light dust haze yesterday. There is no chance of fog on Saturday or Sunday, but is a possibility on Monday and strong chances of early morning fog on Tuesday, the met office said.
