Sandstorms forecast in some areas
Dubai: Hot and fair weather is expected on Thursday with moderate winds that may kick up dust and sand in some parts of the UAE.
Fog and mist is also expected in coastal areas, but it will largely depend on the moisture level in the air and the overnight temperature, said a National Centre of Meteorology and Seismology (NCMS) weatherman.
"We are expecting rather cold temperatures during the night especially over mountains and interior areas," he added.
According to the NCMS conditions have been heralding a seasonal change and the temperature has started rising.
In its forecast for the next 48 hours, the NCMS predicted fair and rather hot weather during the day with temperatures rising above the seasonal norm in most areas.
"It will be fine weather early this morning," the weatherman added.
Moderate north-easterly to south-easterly winds are expected to blow that may kick up dust in open areas. The sea may also become moderately rough with two to four-foot high waves offshore. The NCMS also recorded a slight drop in the level of humidity in UAE cities. Al Ain was again the hottest city yesterday with a maximum temperature of 35C.
