Pleasant weather predicted in the UAE during weekend

Dubai: It will be mostly sunny and pleasant weather on Friday because of north-westerly winds blowing in from the sea, the meteorological office said.

Winds could raise dust over the northern region, but it will not be as bad as Thursday when winds of 25 to 28 knots uplifted sand over the open areas.

A warning had gone out on Thursday for Dubai and Sharjah airports due to the strong winds, said Dr S.K. Gupta, duty forecaster. Visibility had dropped in Abu Dhabi and Al Ain to 1,200 metres and 2,000 metres respectively.

Strong Shammal winds will hit on Sunday and Monday with winds ranging between 15 to 20 knots. The breezy conditions will bring down the temperature to between 31 degrees Celsius and 33 degrees. "It will be very pleasant, especially in the evenings, after the dry spell since the past few days," said the forecaster.
