Designs for Abu Dhabi's new parks get go-ahead
Abu Dhabi: Abu Dhabi Municipality has approved the final designs of seven new parks with the aim of increasing green spaces in the emirate.
The new parks, to be set up in different parts of Abu Dhabi, will add more to the city's greenery and increase the share of green space for each individual in line with world-class standards and services.
The move is in line with the directives of President His Highness Shaikh Khalifa Bin Zayed Al Nahyan as part of the emirate's plan to diversify sources of entertainment and create new natural open door spaces.
Abdul Aziz Al Juraishi, Director of Public Gardens and themed Parks at Abu Dhabi Municipality, said this vital project is part of a comprehensive programme to develop Abu Dhabi island.
Social activities
Al Juraishi added that the designs were prepared by a leading international company and would enhance Abu Dhabi's beauty.
He added that the parks are part of a general plan aimed at improving living standards and setting up an appropriate environment for the population through providing them with open green spaces that allow people to interact with each other and activate their social activities.
"The density of population and construction was taken into consideration before deciding the areas in which these parks will be set up," Al Juraishi said.
