Al Ain burns as temperature crosses 50C mark again
Al Ain: The ground temperature crossed the 50C mark again in Al Ain and other interior desert towns on Monday.
Weathermen said there was no respite in sight and advised, "It is very hot... people must take protective measures".
However, the official temperature recorded in Ali Ain was 48C, in Abu Dhabi and Ras Al Khaimah 47C, and in Dubai 45C. There were no rains despite cloud cover over the eastern and mountainous regions.
In its forecast for the next 48 hours, the National Centre of Meteorology and Seismology said the weather will continue to be very hot and hazy.
Light easterly and south-easterly hot winds will dominate during the day.
The wind direction will change in the afternoon to north-easterly and north-westerly bringing in more humidity in coastal areas. It will also kick up dust in some areas.
