Ministry keen to provide latest educational tools

Abu Dhabi: General Shaikh Mohammad Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Abu Dhabi Crown Prince and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces, was on Wednesday briefed on the Ministry of Education's work plans and strategic targets.

Shaikh Mohammad listened to a presentation on the ministry's tasks of planning, implementation, follow-up and supervision to develop the education sector and achieve an integral educational system.

Dr Hanif Hassan, the Minister of Education, briefed Shaikh Mohammad on the ministry's development plans derived from the federal strategy, in the presence of the work team for the Planning and Policies Committee at the ministry.

Decentralised policies

He was also informed by Dr Hanif on the ministry's work plans to develop the ministry as an effective educational authority that comprises professionals, experts and highly qualified national cadres. Dr Hanif also highlighted the ministry's decentralised policies and practices in making decisions and the ministry's keenness on providing modern curricula, technology and latest educational tools based on international academic standards.

Shaikh Mohammad was also briefed on the policies and regulations of the ministry's human resources that aim to improve the quality performance of education bodies, as well as on plans to develop and improve school buildings and equip them with the latest in line with world-class educational standards.

Shaikh Mohammad also acquainted himself with professional development programmes at the ministry, which aim to upgrade the performance level of all personnel. He stressed the importance of adherence to international academic standards to ensure the preparation of highly qualified young cadres and the building of a UAE citizen with a national identity who is capable of contributing to the country's development.
