Dubai: Dubai Municipality has launched a project to turn around 20 hectares of deserted areas of University City in Al Ruwai into greenery.
Ahmad Abdul Kareem, Director of Municipality's Horticulture Department yesterday planted a tree to start the plantation project.
As part of the project, a total of 122 date palm trees, 1,180 other trees and 26,915 small trees will be planted in addition to grass covering 80,832 square metres (sqm) and 33,027 sqm of shrubs.
