Agreement signed to provide public schools with free books

Dubai: A joint agreement between the Ministry of Education and the Centre for Culture and Heritage was signed on Wednesday to provide publics schools with cultural and scientific books.

Dr Hanif Hassan, Minister of Education, and Jumaa Al Majid, Chairman of Jumaa Al Majid Centre for Culture and Heritage, signed a cultural cooperation agreement to help around 10 schools from each educational zone by providing them with 300 books.

Dr Hassan said the agreement would definitely enhance reading and research skills among students, teachers and principals in general, support the educational role of the ministry in training students and encourage them to read and develop their academic capabilities.

He also praised the cultural role of Jumaa Al Majid Center in maintaining the UAE traditions and culture, especially in gathering enormous amounts of books as well as rare and historical manuscripts.
