Dubai: The high-definition television transmission system will soon be applied in Dubai's five TV channels.

The move is in line with the directives of His Highness Shaikh Mohammad Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice-President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai.

Ahmad Abdullah Al Shaikh, Shaikh Mohammad's media aide and the Managing Director of Dubai Media Incorporated, announced the transformation into the new system.

Through the high definition television broadcasting, which is a digital broadcasting system with higher resolution than traditional television systems, viewers within the reach of Dubai television channels will be able to watch programmes through a high-quality system with 10 times a clearer view than the analogue system that was used before.

Al Shaikh said that this new media broadcasting system represents a new media transformation, as Dubai Media Incorporated will be the first media establishment in the Arab world to change into this new system.

The Dubai Media Inc managing director also said that this new transformations stems from the incorporation's pioneer status which also demands fundamental changes in cameras, machines and transmitters, as well as transmitting areas and satellites.

All these changes are taking place now, and the teams working on the project are being trained and some technicians will be sent abroad for training.

Al Shaikh concluded that this important and fundamental transformation comes as part of the strategic plan launched by Shaikh Mohammad for Dubai's future.
