Sharjah: Three Asian men have been arrested in Sharjah for hosting 31 infiltrators in one house against Dh200 each.
Major General Nasser Bin Al Awadhi Al Minhali, Assistant Undersecretary for Naturalisation, Residence and Checkpoints affairs at the Ministry of Interior, said the Violators and Foreigners Section in Sharjah arrested the 31 infiltrators as part of an inspection campaign.
The violators were found sleeping in one apartment at the industrial area in Sharjah. Most of them were unemployed. The walked to the country through mountain areas.
The three suspects, J. K., 34, A.A., 42, and B.F., 53, agreed to charge each one of the infiltrators Dh200 against allowing them to live in the apartment, which was overcrowded and completely lacking health and safety conditions.
Al Minhali criticised those who risk the interest of society for their personal benefits and threatened them with the strictest punishments stipulated by the law.
He said the inspection campaigns would continue day and night to implement the Foreigners Entry and Residency law, adding that the instructions of Lieutenant General Shaikh Saif Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior, were to take all necessary measure to ensure the eradication of residency violations.
