Protection of public and buildings tops agenda
Abu Dhabi: Abu Dhabi Police are to host a two-day conference on protection of the public and strategic buildings in the emirate.
Held under the patronage of Lieutenant General Shaikh Saif Bin Zayed al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of the Interior, the "World Class Protection and Security for Public and Strategic Buildings Conference" takes place from December 13 to 14.
The event has been organised to formulate a preventative approach to terrorism and other security threats aimed at properties with high strategic value in addition to public buildings with high rates of occupancy, officials said in a statement.
Important
"The importance of this conference is directly reflected in the Abu Dhabi Urban Planning Council's 2030 Urban Structure Framework Plan, which is projecting population growth of over three million people and tourism numbers over seven million in 2030. The need to meet the necessary infrastructure and building requirements will call for corresponding safety initiatives for public and strategic buildings on behalf of the Abu Dhabi Police."
The conference aims to allow experts and industry leaders in the design, development and management of buildings to share best practices, innovative ideas, experiences and information.
