Dubai Police arrest man for practicing witchcraft to make estranged lovers unite

Dubai: Police have arrested a man who claimed he could solve family disputes and bring couples back together using witchcraft.

Dubai Police's Economic Crimes Department at the Criminal Investigation Department (CID), received a tip-off at the beginning of the month about an Arab man who was conning people using witchcraft.

Investigations

The department formed teams to follow up the case. Investigations revealed the suspect was carrying out his activities in an apartment in the Al Qusais area.

Police raided the suspect's apartment after setting a trap for him and arrested him when he gave an artefact used in withcraft to an undercover CID source.

After inspecting the apartment police found various items including stones and herbs used in witchcraft. They also found a laptop on which they found folders and files.

During investigations the suspect confessed to practicing witchcraft. It also transpired he was staying in the country illegally.
