Prosecutors charged the 28-year-old Nepalese driver of verbally threatening the 40-year-old Indian quality officer
Dubai: A driver has strongly denied the charge of threatening to kill a quality officer if he reported to management that his clothes were untidy.
Prosecutors charged the 28-year-old Nepalese driver of verbally threatening the 40-year-old Indian quality officer after the latter discovered that the suspect's clothes were untidy.
"I am not guilty. I didn't threaten him I was doing my job as a driver but he abused his job to disturb me," argued 28-year-old S.M. when he defended himself before the Dubai Court of First Instance on Thursday.
The Public Prosecution charged the defendant with threatening the officer verbally by saying, "I will kill you if you talk to me a second time…I have no problem if I go to jail".
The 40-year-old testified that one day he discovered that the suspect's clothes were untidy and messed up and saw some scratches on the company's vehicle.
The suspect asked Presiding Judge Hamad Abdul Latif Abdul Jawad to adjourn the case until he brings in a waiver from the claimant.
