Iris scan: Deported Woman caught
Dubai: A Chinese woman who was earlier deported was arrested at Dubai airport while attempting to re-enter the country after her Iris scan alerted officials about the women's situation.
However, the woman tried to bribe officials at the airport by paying Dh5,000 to let her in. The official informed the authorities and the woman was arrested.
Police also arrested an office boy at the airport for aiding in allowing illegal passengers such as those deported and banned from entering the country to enter through the airport.
Major General Mohammad Ahmad Al Merri, Director General of Dubai Naturalisation and Residency Department (DNRD), said the number of visitors is increasing daily through Dubai International Airport as the number of arrivals and departures on a daily basis exceeded 60,000.
Major General Al Merri said staff from DNRD and protective security arrested in the past 15 days 496 illegals who had offended the residency law. "The illegals were arrested in different areas of Dubai. Out of the total arrested 174 were infiltrators and 322 illegal residents," he said.
Major General Al Merri urged the public to cooperate with the department by informing about any illegal resident. "Public can call 8005111 to inform about offenders of the residency law," he said.
