Awareness: Dubai Police organises workshop on Aids

Dubai: The human rights division of Dubai Police organised an Aids/HIV awareness workshop for employees of punitive establishments on Sunday in co-operation with Unicef.

Major General Khamis Mattar Al Mazeina, Deputy Chief of Dubai Police, who inaugurated the workshop, held at the Dubai Police Academy, acknowledged the efforts carried out by Unicef to fight Aids across the world.

"The Unicef and the World Health Organisation have issued several recommendations to limit the increase of Aids cases," said Al Mazeina.

He also stressed on the importance of spreading awareness on Aids, especially since more than40 per cent of the persons living in the Gulf countries are below the age of 18.
